How do I log in?

Click the "Sign In" link in the upper right corner of the site and enter your username and password.

What do I do if I forgot my password?

For security purposes, we will not display your password or send it to you via email. To reset your password, click the "Sign In" link and then select "Need help logging in?"

How do I get access to the Online Edition?

Mayo Clinic Health Letter — Online Edition is a paid subscription website. You must purchase a subscription to be eligible for full access to the website and the exclusive content. Upon purchasing a subscription, you will be prompted to create a Mayo Clinic online account. Mayo Clinic will send you a confirmation email with an activation link. You must click on this link to activate your Mayo Clinic Health Letter account.

You may be asked to enter your account number to validate your subscription status.

Where can I find my account number?

Your account number is an 11- or 12-digit identifier above your name and address on your newsletter label, renewal notice or account invoice — highlighted in red on the sample shown here:

I can't log in. What's wrong?

Please verify that your email address and password have been entered correctly.

You must also have an active paid subscription to either Mayo Clinic Health Letter — Online Edition or the print edition. If you do not, subscribe now. If your subscription has expired, renew now.

How do I search for an article?

You must be logged into the site as a paid subscriber in order to access Mayo Clinic Health Letter issues and articles. There are three ways to search for a topic:

  • Type in the name of a topic and click the "Search" button.
  • Select the first letter of a topic and browse through the list of topics published.
  • To view a specific issue, select the year the issue was published and browse through the list of issues by month.

How do I download or print PDF files?

You will need Adobe Reader software on your computer to be able to open and read the PDF files. To print, simply click the PDF and then click the printer icon.

Why can't I open/print the PDF?

Many factors can affect the display of a PDF on the web, including the type of device or software you are using and various browser versions and settings. To check Adobe Reader plug-in settings, follow these steps:

  1. Open Adobe Reader
  2. Click the "Edit" menu in the top menu bar and select "Preferences."
  3. In the "Categories" section, select "Internet".
  4. Make sure the box next to "Display PDF in browser" is checked.
  5. Click OK to dismiss the Preferences window, close Adobe Reader and re-open your browser.

If you continue to experience technical difficulties, please go to Adobe's support website for further information, or check the website for the particular browser that you are using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome).
